Homework #1 Unlock Your Spine: Practice Spine Twist Supine

One of the best ways to keep progressing in Pilates is to take your practice beyond the studio. This week, we’re focusing on Spine Twist Supine — a gentle but powerful exercise to improve core stability, spinal mobility, and coordination.

Why practice it at home?

  • It helps you strengthen your obliques (side abdominals) for better support in every movement.

  • It encourages spinal mobility, which can ease stiffness and improve posture.

  • It’s a simple, floor-based exercise that you can do almost anywhere — no equipment needed!

Here’s how to get the most out of it:

  1. Find a quiet space where you can lie down comfortably.

  2. Follow along with the video until you feel confident with the movement, then practice 2-3 times throughout the week

  3. Focus on moving with control — let your breath guide the twist.

  4. Notice how your spine and core feel after each practice.

Remember, consistency makes the biggest difference. A few minutes at home can make your in-studio sessions even more effective!
